March Review
Since I admit to not doing great at updating the blog these days, I have set a new goal: A monthly post! It seems more obtainable for me so I'll give it a shot :)
This is a quick "beauty shot" of our munchkin taken in early March. We have a similar pose of her big brother in Daddy's arms, though she is MUCH larger than he was at the time :)
Our little Brecken..... Before we got his "Justin Bieber" hair cut off!
Catching snow flakes on their tongues...
Mommy & the kiddos... I love this picture!
Our little Madiana dressed up pretty for church!
A sick day :(
Madiana & her dollie
I have been wanting to do a little photo project with our name, and Brecken LOVED playing with the big letters....
The finished product!
Family movie night!

I have taken up sewing over my maternity love and have stitched several bibs, baby booties, a few outfits for Madiana, some pillows...... It has been fun (and at times frustrating) trying to figure it all out! Here are a few very special throw pillows that I made to give my Dad. April 2nd marks my parents 35th wedding anniversary, and since Mom isn't here to celebrate, I wanted to make something for him to see/ use daily that had a piece of her in them. I decided on throw pillows made out of a few of mom's shirts... I told him to ignore the crooked seams and enjoy the sentiment behind them :)
Brecken & Eric have been able to go to a few MN Wild hockey games and I even got to go to one while Madiana stayed with her Aunt Jill!
Grandma & Grandpa Walker have made several trips to MN to see the kids...
Brecken & I have tried several "cooking concoctions!" Here we were making homemade tortilla chips and fresh fruit salsa. Yum!
Our little lady turned 2 months in March!
The unseasonably awesome weather has allowed us to get to the park and outside several times. YAY!
Madiana trying on another one of my sewing projects.... Some little booties!
The theme for my entire maternity leave has been "sick kids!" :( :( This picture was actually taken during a healthy moment at Madiana's 2 month well-child-check-up! We feel like we have seen our pediatrician, Dr. Bodine, more than our families :(
With all of the sick days we have had, we've been reading PLENTY of books!
We also got a new minivan in March. Eric was less than thrilled, but the room we have is amazing! I am still trying to improve on my parking abilities, but love it!
On our first night home with the van, we let Brecken watch a few minutes of a movie which he thought was SO COOL!
Go Panthers!!
A comparison between Madiana and Brecken (both 2 months at the time of the picture) in the same UNI onesie. I still don't think they look alike, but others think they do??
Another constant this month..... Getting spit-up on :( I don't know who goes through more outfits in a day, Madiana or me?
We celebrated Eric's 31st birthday on March 24th...
.... which means we had to make cupcakes!
Brecken helped make "hamburger cupcakes" and he was impressed with the finished product....
Happy Birthday Daddy!
Just recently, Brecken has shown more of an interest in helping with Madiana. He likes to get her diapers out of the drawer for us, pick out her jammies, and this was his first time helping to wash her feet in the bathtub. He is a great big brother!
Mommy & Brecken playing in the fort we made :)
Learning how to skate with Daddy so he can play hockey someday!
Watching NCAA ball games...
Miss Madiana is still trying to get her eyes to work! She actually tracks things/ people really well, but sometimes goes a little wonky when trying to really focus on something up close!
Cheese!
The end of the month brought Croup to our house, with poor Brecken being miserable for about 4-5 days. His oral steroids (which were, according to him, "very very yucky in my tummy!") were only choked down with the help of a Freezie-Pop!
Madiana trying on shoes that her Grandma Gott crochet for me when I was a little girl!
We FINALLY made it down to Ollie to visit Papa Gott......
.... before our trip was cut short due to another health scare. While in Ollie, Iowa, Brecken developed breathing difficulties and we had to take him to the Emergency Room in Ottumwa. After a chest x-ray confirmed he had pneumonia, he was admitted into the hospital over night :(
Pneumonia makes us grumpy.....
... and sad....
.... but we were happy to be discharged!
As soon as we were discharged, we hurried back to Minnesota as fast as we could to be close to Brecken and Madiana's doctors!!! ..... Okay, we did actually put our kids in their car seats before taking off, but it felt like our whole trip to Iowa (less than two days) was this quick :( This picture was actually taken at a pit stop on our drive home to change diapers/ eat/ give bottles/ burp/ walk dogs/ etc.
No one is more upset to see the calendar flip to April than me, as it marks my return to work. Madiana will start her first day of daycare on April 9th and I cry just thinking about it. Not only did my time with her go way too quickly, but I feel like I never really got to just "enjoy!" Between her RSV and Brecken's croup /pneumonia and other small things along the way, I feel like we spent the whole time in hospitals, doctor's offices, and in bed trying to rest and get better. Hopefully April will bring us better health.... Though I highly doubt it considering we will now have TWO kids picking up daycare germs :(
Stay tuned!!!
