Santa

It's amazing what Brecken will do for the promise of an M&M.  We are totally NOT above bribing our child :)

Shoveling....

After weeks of talking about Santa and the process of sitting on his lap, we were shocked and relieved when Brecken took off at a sprint when it was his turn to give Santa a great big hug! Just when I breathed a sigh of relief and thought I was silly for worrying that our Santa visit wouldn't go well, my child came back to his body and laid on the floor refusing to sit on Santa's lap or take a photo with him. This was the only shot we got out of "Take One...." Stayed tuned!

Santa Visit Take Two included Mommy's lap, a lot of persuasion, bribes including but not limited to popcorn, a cookie and some chocolate....

Here, I believe I was actually mouthing, "Say cheese and you can get a cookie..." to which he was loudly saying, "NO!!!!!!" Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, child!!

Here we have warmed up to Santa (though still not keen on the idea of leaving my lap) and we're listing off our wish list..... He told Santa he wanted a hockey stick, a choo choo train, a race car, and a tow truck named Mator before I told him that was probably enough for Santa to pack in his sleigh next week....

Here Brecken is saying, "Nice doing business with you Santa. I'll see you and your reindeer next weekend. Don't be late."

... and here is where I reminded Brecken that we must say a "pre-present" thank you to Santa and his elves. Santa was appreciative of the manners and in exchange gave him a whole box of candies. WOW was Brecken excited! Perhaps if Santa would have led with the box of candies, I wouldn't have had to be in all of the photos :(
