Adults' weekend in Chicago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were ECSTATIC to get away for a weekend in Chicago with our wonderful friends, The Fulkersons!!!  Brecken packed his bags - and his little potty seat - and headed to Grandma & Grandpa Walker's while we packed our Cubs gear to head to Wrigley!

A quick picture with Mommy & Daddy before our weekend apart.  I won't lie, we MISSED him!!

Upon checking into our hotel, we discovered that our "two queen bed request" was not met and we ended up with just one king bed.  Hmmmmm.  Luckily, we all like each other so piled in :)

Visiting "The Bean" at Millennium Park.  How sad is it that in the 4 years I lived in Chicago I NEVER ONCE went here?? :(

Visiting the fountains... We all said how much our kiddos would have LOVED this part of the park!!!!

Harry Caray's!!!

This weekend started out as a 30th birthday gift to Ryan from Lissa in the form of Chicago Cubs tickets.... Side note:  For Eric's 30th birthday, he got a roof rake from me :)  Hmmmm.... Who is the better wife here??  After the Fulkersons asked if we would be interested in joining them, we bought Cubs tickets ourselves and Eric's 30th bday present was upgraded from the earlier mentioned roof rake.  Yippee!  Now I'm ALSO a good wife!!!  The game was awesome.  And by awesome, I mean I had lots of great food :)

The pizza at Biacci's Pizza is BIG!

GO CUBS GO!

I was super psyched about my shirt that I made for the game.  It said, "Eating my way through Wrigley for our Future Cubs Fan!"  This shirt was completely appropriate for me and I thought pretty clever.  Unfortunately, the iron-on transfers I used (specific to stretchy, dark fabric it claimed on the package) were not appropriate or clever and cracked and rubbed off before the second inning.  Grrrrrr.  Irritated is an understatement.  I threw on a different tank and went about my day...... Grumbling only periodically :)

We were excited to run into one of Eric's friends - April - at Wrigley and finally meet her adorable little guy Emmett.

HIGH FIVES FOR A CUBS VICTORY!

Celebrating the boys' 30th birthdays at Howl at the Moon Dueling Piano Bar.  It is so sad to say that us old farts were yawning throughout the night..... How age - AND MOSTLY KIDS - have aged us!!! :)  Still, it was a lot of fun!

When we woke up the next morning, Ryan insisted that we all wear our free Cubs shirts that we got at Wrigley.  He also thought it would be fun to pretend the mirror in our room was like "The Bean" in Millennium Park :)

Our matching Cubs shirts....

It was a great weekend filled with ENTIRELY too many unhealthy food choices, great laughs with great friends, and awesome memories!!!!  We look forward to our next trip together Fulkersons!!!!!
