A day at the zoo!
We took a family trip to the MN Zoo today and had fun!
Brecken wasn't so excited about the play area, but liked sitting in and driving the boat!
We got to see two bears playing in the water right in front of the window!
Fish...
Brecken showing me where the leopard was...
Bison...
Riding the shuttle to get to the zoo. Although, having ridden in the actual tractor with Papa Gott before, B was slightly confused why he had to ride on the wagon being pulled and not INSIDE the tractor. He was sad, but quickly got over it when we promised he could ride in a tractor with Papa Gott very soon!
We loved looking at the baby pigs and practicing our piggy noises in the pig barn!
In the chicken coop, there were two chickens out of their cages!! We don't know if that was supposed to be the case, but it was cool to see them up close :)
Baby chicks...
Playing in the kids' barn...
Finally riding on a tractor!
This picture doesn't do justice to Brecken's 4th of July "bug bites," but gives a small sampling of just one side of his face :( Poor guy.... They are EVERYWHERE!! :(
CORN ON THE COB!
Dr. Seuss was loose at the zoo! It was fun to see all of the "Kitty Hats" and "Thing 1 and 2" everywhere we went :)
Brecken loved the Bald Eagle... It stayed right in front of us for a long time!
Here, Brecken is putting "my wings look like Eag-ie," as he said in response to the Bald Eagle spreading his wings out wide :)
The Canada Lynx (or as Brecken referred to it as, "Biiiiiig kitty!"
Crawling through tunnels in the Tropical Trail....
We packed a PB&J lunch to eat while at the zoo, but we didn't take time to enjoy the oreo cookie while we were there. Brecken, though looking VERY tired, insisted that he was awake enough to eat his cookie....
Even has his little eyes started to close and I kept asking, "Are you sure you don't want mommy to hold your cookie until you wake up?" Brecken: "No. My wake. My eat cookie."
He even tried to eat it IN HIS SLEEP when I tried peeling it out of his sleeping hands :)
And finally, sleep takes over and the uneaten cookie falls half onto his shoulder and half onto his lap :)
A fun day at the zoo meant a long nap by the Bug-A-Boo. Hopefully he'll be waking up soon for more fun adventures!!
