Brecken

Oh Brecken..... What a blessing he is in our lives.... Even on days that are full of meltdowns and tantrums and all of the joy that comes along with living with a two year old :)

It is so fun to have conversations with him. At dinner every night, we actually talk about the day and he tells us what he did at school. Most of what he says can be validated by his daily report from school and it helps us fill in the blanks that we aren't understanding. Tonight, Eric was helping his brother coach t-ball so it was a Mommy/ Brecken night.... B shared with me that he "played on a boat outside with Ella," that he "eat meat, cheese, cookies, and milk" for lunch (according to his report, there was truth to the meat (turkey), cheese, and milk :)). He also told me that a "special friend and cat read stories..." Thankfully, the teachers helped fill in the blanks on this one as his daily report said that they had a guest speaker come into his class today who read stories with her puppet friends, one of which, I'm assuming, was a cat :)

After our spaghetti and conversation, it was time to wash hands ("wash hands with soap, hands up to walk" as Brecken says following every meal :)), and then clean up. I asked Brecken if he wanted to play for a few minutes while I did the dishes, to wish he responded, "My do dishes." I asked if he wanted to help and he was all for it.... And what a great helper he was! If I had needed him to wash the sponge with the wash cloth, I would have given him a 10 :) As for the spoon I wanted him to clean, it kept "hiding in wa-wa wit bubb-es" :) All in all, it was pretty cute. I've been unsuccessful in getting the video off of my phone but will keep working on it.

Then it was time to head downstairs for some playtime, followed by books and bedtime. What a fun mommy/ Brecken night it was! It got me excited for our SUMMER VACATION that will finally start next week after my time as a jury member ends :)
