All day party!

.... and by "all day," I of course mean Brecken's shortened version of a day: 7am - 7pm :)

What a fun day Brecken had! Here he is getting waken up by mommy and daddy.....

Happy Birthday from Mommy.... NO IDEA how mommy appears more awake than daddy. This is certainly never the case in the morning!!

Why do I have to come sit at the table?

IS THAT A CANDLE ON MY PLATE??? Suddenly, I'm awake :)
*We've been asking Brecken all week what he wanted to have for his special birthday breakfast and we promised we would put a candle in whatever he choose. Thinking waffles were a shoe-in, I gave him options of waffles, pancakes, donuts, toast...... He chose PUMPKIN BREAD. This is an absolutely fine choice, but a bit bizarre for a two year old? No??

Checking out the "Brecken Birthday" headquarters :) He said he wanted school buses for his birthday party, so school buses he got!!!!!

As it was still too early for our birthday shananigins, Brecken was against blowing out the candle and instead opted to smack the flame out with his fingers. I think he immediately regretted that decision. I also think he learned that this was not the best approach to getting the flame to go out :)

Deciding he was "awake" enough to try again, Brecken succeeds the second time around :)

.... and ONE more time. After all, it IS his birthday :)

It sounds like Brecken had a WONDERFUL day at school! He brought cupcakes in to share with his friends, got to wear a special "I am 2 today" crown, was able to paint, and got to spend some time outside on the playground. Judging from his shirt, he not only enjoyed his cupcake but also the 3 pieces of pineapple pizza he had for lunch :) When we first walked into daycare this morning, Brecken loudly announced as he crossed the threshold of the room, "Happy Birthday Brecken Birthday!" He loved that his friends sang happy birthday to him and all day long when teachers would ask him how old he was, he would proudly yell, "TWOOOOOOOOOOOO" while holding up all 5 fingers. Hmmm..... Perhaps we'll work on that connection :)
