There are all kinds of "Brecken-isms" that make us chuckle. He has key phrases that we hear on a daily basis.... "What that guy doin'" (said with the cutest little southern twang and scrunched up nose)... "Where ___ go?" (asked about mommy and daddy constantly AND all family members no matter how long it has been since we last saw them AND most recently, all neighbors and neighborhood pets). He also does this while playing hide-and-seek with various toys and body parts. He thinks he is SO funny as he says "Where Breck-ees fin-ners go?" (while hiding his fingers under his opposite armpit)..... HILARIOUS. Although "fin-ners" aren't so tough to hide, he hasn't figured out that "Breck-ees ears" and "Breck-ees nose" are more difficult and does his best to hide them all :) He is quite the little prankster...
We've had a few family movie nights, and Brecken so lovingly (and not the least bit annoyingly- said with sarcasm) screams out the COLORS on the screen as he sees them. Hence, watching a movie with Brecken consists of.... "Greeeeeeeeeeen." "Blaaaaaaaaack." "Puuuu-ple." "Whiiiiiiiiiiiit." Like I said, not the least bit annoying when trying to follow the movie :) He is great at running commentary and it always surprises me just how big his vocabulary is. Just today, he saw something with the Sesame Street characters on them and was able to name them all - Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Elmo, Burt, Ernie, Zoe.... What?? We've never even watched Sesame Street? How does he know these things?!
He loves to save money in his "pig-gy baaaaan." He only accepts "pen-nies" and "quaaats" though, and seems to scoff at nickles and dimes altogether.
Every day as we leave daycare, he waves to the window and says, "Bye bye friends! Lo you friends!" What a sweetie :)
Over the last several months, we have tried really hard to get him to USE HIS WORDS instead of turning on the water works every time he wants something. Recently, we have noticed progress in this area which we are happy about. When he is frustrated, he starts out with a quick cry, but is leaning towards "hep pease" (help please) instead which is music to our ears :)
A few pictures from today....
Popcorn while shopping at Home Depot always makes for a good shopping experience :)
Brecken is very into shoes currently.... Mommy's, Daddy's, Brecken's, it doesn't matter whose!
After helping with the grocery shopping in the store, Brecken likes to unbag our newly purchased groceries and "re-shop" with his little cart. It's fun to watch...... As long as I can quickly snag the cold items when he isn't looking :)
