A few pictures from last weekend...

A few pictures from last weekend when Grandma Gott and Anna were here from Arizona...

Eric, Brecken, Anna and Grandma went to Underwater World at the Mall of America on Friday while I was at work...

Introducing Anna to her first taste of Thomas the Train!!

Playing catch with everyone....

Basketball with Grandma Gott

Michael and Julia met us at Edinborough on Saturday morning.... Brecken is always excited to see them and is constantly asking for Ju Ju :)

After the indoor park, we went to PF Chang's for lunch.  YUM.  I am still having pleasant dreams about the food a week later!!  Brecken has eaten Chinese food before but this was his first attempt at chopsticks :)

As for what's going on in the world of Brecken lately....

Where do I even begin with the stories?  He says and does things each day that make us laugh but before I can remember to write the first funny down, he's onto the next.  Now that he is putting words together and expressing his thoughts more through words, it's been so fun!  The great thing about a toddler is that you can actually HEAR the wheels of thinking as they form.  It's naive, it's innocent, it's pure, it's BEAUTIFUL.

He has recently started to take inventory of where everyone is.... So each morning, it's "Mama hooome..."  "Dada hooome.... "Gucker (Tucker) hooome..." "Kiki (PJ) hoooooome...."  Last weekend when my grandma and cousin from Arizona were home and he was doing this, I asked where Anna was and he said "Nana Bebin hooome."  What a smart boy!  Ha.  He actually always says everyone is HOOOME all the time though, with no exceptions.  Even when one of us is already at work and the other asks if we are at home or at work, he never says work.  I guess he never sees us at work so it is out of his realm of understanding.

This morning, when he was waking up, I heard "All done night night" which I thought was pretty cute.  He hasn't learned "I'm awake" yet so when you think about it "All done night night" does make perfect sense.  I went into his room and cuddled for a few minutes before he got out of bed.  I stayed in his race car bed with my eyes closed, thinking he would probably grab a book or toy to play with...... But then heard him open the door and let himself out.  Have I mentioned he is not a baby anymore?  I can't get over how "big boy" he has gotten!!

Not to be an uncaring mother, but I much prefer Brecken to run into complications than have things go perfectly, because his "OH NO!" exclamations just melt my heart.  He gets this look of pure concern on his face, scrunches his little nose, and with full care and compassion screeches "OH NOOOO!"  He is quite dramatic, which I feel might come from his momma's DNA :)

Brecken absolutely adores his cousins Michael and Julia.  He looks at their pictures on the wall and carries their holiday card around.  He refers to them as "Ju Ju" and "Mi-mah" and has so much fun playing with them.  He has recently started to enjoy giving hugs to people and when we asked him to give a goodbye hug to his cousins, they often end up in a little tiny triplet sandwich of hugs.  Oh, it's just so cute!!

What is on our docket for this blistery Saturday morning?  It will likely bring games of choo choos and "ucks" (he currently has a duck game he likes to play with).  At some point, he'll spend time giving his big brother and sister lots of hugs, he'll read tons of books (Did I mention he now prefers to read books to US rather than us to him?), and we will take it easy.... Most importantly, we will smother our little bundle with HUGS!  He is so precious!
