Brecken's First hockey game!
What a fun, fun day we've had!! After talking about it for weeks, today was FINALLY the day that we got to go to the "hah-ka" game (a.k.a hockey!). We were able to get tickets through Eric's uncle Roger and invited our friends Brian & Chris to go with us. Brecken used his extra ticket to invite his friend Anna who is just a few weeks older than him. They kids did GREAT and had an amazing time!! We of course had plenty of snacks throughout the night, but there were lots of things to watch too, in addition to the main event. In fact, we made it all the way to the 3rd period with less than 5 minutes left to play when we left. And our reason for leaving wasn't even a melt down, but more preventative on the part of us parents :) We changed the kiddos into jammies on our way out and they were both out like rocks on the car ride home. Brecken didn't stir once from getting him out of his car seat to getting his coat/ hat off or putting him in his bed. He will be a tired boy tomorrow and we're anxious to see how long he sleeps!
Here is a picture of Brecken sporting his Wild jersey before going to school this morning!
A pre-game meal.... That is, if you can consider hot dogs, nachos and chocolate goldfish a meal :)
Brecken decided to combine his love of hot dogs and nachos in one by dipping his hot dog in the cheese sauce. YUM. This picture did NOT do the mound of gooey cheese on his chin justice!!
Chip = Vegetable food group? (Tortilla chips are made from corn right??) HEALTHY.
Chris, Anna, Norby, Brecken (who can't take his eyes off of his new friend Norby), and April
After "talking" to Norby, getting a photo with him, and exchanging high fives, Brecken was sad to see Norby go.... But sadly, B had to share him with several other kiddo fans :( Luckily, we seemed to keep running into the Wild mascot and each time, he would share some laughs (and steal some nachos!) with/ from Brecken :)
Anna and Brecken with hockey Linus ... As you can tell, Brecken has places to go and people to stay so he won't be sticking around for long....
Down to just Anna.... Brecken was trying to blend in with the masses by escaping down the hallway :(
We tried ear plugs due to the high volume in sound, but ultimately decided that he would be okay without them. Hopefully that was the smart thing to do? He had taken them in and out so many times that it surely wasn't hygienic!
Love this family photo!!
Anna and Brecken both watching the game... And playing with their ear plugs :)
In addition to the mascots, B also loved the "bus." He watched the "buses" circle around the arena and with each new lap excitedly said "bus" while watching. Some people may call them zambonies, but as we explained to the Fiscus family tonight, anything that moves and is larger than a car is certainly a "bus" in Brecken's eyes :)
Here he is: "Bus." "Bus." "Bus...."
I believe he is explaining hockey to momma here...
Clapping after a goal was scored!
Intently watching the game with Daddy...
Everyone loves popcorn :)
More intent watching.... I believe this picture was taken during the break when the various Minnesota team mascots (Twins, Vikings, Wild, etc.) were playing hockey against each other and not the actual game itself. Brecken LOVED this part of the night! He kept waving to Norby (the Wild mascot) as he felt like he was a close and personal friend. After all, they DID get their picture taken together earlier in the evening AND Norby saw him with nachos later and tried to steal one AND again later Norby came and gave him a high five. See why B thinks they are friends?? Best Friends!
Anna doing some acrobatic moves on her mommy's lap during a break from the action :)
Fiscus family photo...
Walker family photo...You will notice B is much too into his popcorn to stop shoveling it in for even one photo.
Anna borrowing her daddy's seat while he is gone :) Such a big girl!
