Let the holidays begin!
Isn't it sad that at the beginning of this long holiday break, I'm already knowing that we won't fit everything in we would like to! We have hockey games and play dates, lunches and movie dates, lots of catching up to do at our jobs, and a few Christmas celebrations to squeeze in! The time will go by quickly and we hope to be able to not get overwhelmed by the "to do lists" and simply enjoy the moments. We will get to see both of our families throughout the rest of the week and don't even have to leave the state! This is the first time that we won't be in Iowa for Christmas since... Ummm.... Ever?? The Walkers are heading this way tomorrow through Friday and my family will join us Thursday through the weekend. We can't wait to see everyone!
This holiday season we are incredibly thankful for great friends, amazing family and a son that changes our world for the better each and every day. While being completely grateful for all that we have been given, I would be remiss in saying that there isn't a feeling of emptiness as 2010 comes to a close. As I feel like the entire world around me is pregnant (and I truly don't think it is much of an exaggeration!), it serves as a daily reminder that our little one will not be joining our family in the upcoming months as we once planned for. I would be almost 6 months pregnant at this point, which means there is a great chance I would already be on bed rest...... If nothing else, I guess I'll focus on the "positive"aspect of the situation in which I am teaching and baking and playing with Brecken and not confined to my left side in bed 24/7. I never thought I would be sad about NOT being on bed rest.
To everyone that helps us get through the tough times, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
