Oh Brecken, we love you so!
As I was in the process of posting this earlier, our Internet went out and I wasn't able to add captions or stories to go with any of these pictures. If you visited our blog in the interim, you might have already enjoyed the pictures and made up your own stories to go along with what you saw :) Eric was somehow able to rig up a "tethering" situation where we can access Internet via our cell phones. Thank God for that!!! Hurry up Comcast, FIX OUR INTERNET!!!! It mgiht have something to do with the insane amount of snow we received over the last few days.... Just sayin' :)
Here is our big boy enjoying his big boy cup. Though we decided that we might need to get just a plain old cup... No Thomas, No Dora, Nothing to distract him :) It is very hard to consume the contents of the cup when all you can think about is the fun characters on the outside!
Look mama, it's "Posh..." Posh = Thomas. I have no idea how he came up with this, but it is what it is. Everytime he points to anything Thomas, "Posh" is what comes out :)
Our clean little boy not only enjoys daily sweeping, but has also became quite annoyed lately at any spills or dirty fingers. He usually asks for a "nap" (napkin) a few minutes into each meal and you can find him dotting his fingers, chin, nose and table throughout his eating experience.
So cute!
Decorating the tree!
We went to Underwater World at the Mall of America with Uncle Matt and cousins Michael and Julia. Due to sickness (mostly Brecken and Mommy!), we haven't been able to see them much lately and it was so fun to hang out!!
Trying to get a "kid" picture this year proved to be difficult. Some of you may remember last year's photo when we stuffed our tiny munchkin of a child into a little sled and tricked him into smiling by dangling something bright and shiny above the camera. This year, no amount of bribery or shiny objects would do the trick. Needless to say, these photos won't be making the Holiday cards. A for effort though! Oh, and it was around this time of the day that we realized Brecken had a fever of 103. Yes, I said a fever of 103..... This does excuse his "bad picture taking behavior", but leaves us very sad as he is just 4 days post tubes and we had high hopes of never seeing a thermometer above 98.6 again!!!!!
We were able to web cam with ALL 4 grandparents today! How fun! We've been web camming since birth but it's been fun now that Brecken is getting into it. He finished a puzzle for Grandma & Grandpa Walker online today, and showed off how he can line all of his trucks and trains up in a single file line for Grandma & Grandpa Gott!
Ready for "ni ni...." Notice how his "mon-ma" (monkey) has a lovey also :)
Mommy's favorite part of Brecken being in a big boy bed = Mommy gets to lay with him and snuggle while reading books. LOVE IT.
As Brecken is on the other side of the wall from us tonight with his fever, it makes us sad and scared. Our little bug-a-boo is so sweet and kind and loving and sweet. Why must he be so sick?? And what can we do to make him feel better? It hurts our hearts to see him hurting. As you can tell from today's photos, he is a GOOD boy, even with high fevers. This must mean that he has a high tolerance for pain and that makes me all the more sad. I wish I could take away all of his hurt. In the mean time, we are listening to him cough and have the occasional "cry out." We are checking his temp throughout the night in hopes that he will be able to wake up tomorrow fever-free and happy.
