Surgery!

Today was the highly anticipated day that *hopefully* marks the start of a brand new Brecken- A Brecken that is free of ear infections and high fevers and daily doses of antibiotics!! Other than the fact that Brecken's nervous mommy got ZERO sleep last night, the day went as well as could be expected! Brecken slept in his sweatpants and shirt so he would be ready to roll this morning. He woke up and had some cuddle time with his doggies before heading into the hospital. The nurses and doctors were all very nice and very helpful, and there were SO many fun toys to play with! Eric and I joked that perhaps Brecken thought he was getting dropped off at a new school because there were so many other kiddos there waiting for their surgeries and the place was totally decked out with kid friendly furniture, decor, books and toys. There was even a life size painted zebra and gigantic giraffe for the kids to oogle over.... And monkeys hanging from the ceiling! There was a big carpeted boat for them to climb on and read books in. To say that the place was "fun" is an understatement :) Brecken didn't mind spending time there at all, that is for sure!

Getting to see Mommy & Daddy after surgery was fun! Arguably, Mommy and Daddy were probably more excited than Brecken :) He was snuggling in a nice warm blanket with a nurse when we walked into his recovery room. After not getting anything to eat or drink prior to surgery, he was a thirsty boy.... Here he is guzzling his juice box....

... and here he is asking for "one more peeez" when his juice was gone in 5 seconds!

We've never had teddy grahams and popsicles with a juice box for breakfast before. Brecken hopes we come to this place every day!

Our whole drive home, Brecken kept asking to go "ni ni..." When we got home, he crawled into bed and couldn't even make it up to his pillows before crashing!

Also here are a few pictures from last weekend...... Brecken loves to cuddle in mommy & daddy's bed sometimes :)

B is all about his stools. We've put them in the kitchen so he can climb up and wash his hands.... He likes to use them as a place to sit and often moves them around the location of his choosing :)

We love to write thank you notes! Brecken doesn't dare let Mommy write them for him anymore- He needs to help with the writing these days!
