Happy 18th month birthday Brecken!!!!!

Brecken will officially turn 18 months tomorrow at 6:03am. That is also the time we will be waking him to take him for his first little surgery. Such a sad way to spend a milestone birthday :( We check in for his tubes at 6:45am with his surgery scheduled for 7:45am. At his pre-op physical tonight he DID have a slight fever, but barring any high temps in the morning, surgery should be a go! As nervous as we are as the parents of a little baby going into surgery and being put under, we are optimistic that this will pave the way for a healthier Brecken. Our poor little bug-a-boo has had an ear infection since October 6th, and that has lead to so many high fevers, infections, colds, and other yucky stuff. We just want him to be healthy!!

We don't actually do the whole "well child check-up" thing as Brecken is just seen on a regular basis for reoccurring ear infections instead :( That said, he had his height/ weight taken on the eve of his 18 month birthday for his pre-op physical so I thought I would share those stats:

Weight: 27 pounds 7 oz.

Height: 33 1/4"

Head: 19"

Eric took him to his appointment since I had my grad class tonight. I was ECSTATIC to hear that both the doctor and the nurse were impressed with Brecken's extensive vocabulary!!!!! After commenting about how "advanced" Brecken was, the nurse said "I can tell you must have always read a lot of books to him." The early childhood teacher in me just beamed :) :) :) Brecken does LOVE his books and always has..... I hope that never changes! Dr. Bodine also commented about how many words Brecken said to him during their short time together this afternoon and that he was very impressed. We are proud parents tonight!!!
