Vacation Photos
I am finally getting around to posting the rest of our vacation pictures. We had a great two weeks, despite Brecken spending the majority of his time in Arizona under the weather.... Poor guy! After our urgent care visits while in Arizona, I learned that Brecken had a double ear infection and herpengina (a very painful throat infection). After switching to a 3rd medicine, he began eating and drinking again, stopped throwing up and his 104 fever eventually went down. Just in time to board our next plane to California. We met up with Daddy in Sacramento and drove the 2 hours to San Francisco. Note: It is FREEZING in San Francisco! It was August and 50 degrees?!?!?! YUCK. We immediately hit up a street vendor to purchase sweatshirts and a stocking hat for Brecken!
After arriving in San Francisco, we took some time to stroll around the Wharf before heading back to the hotel to enjoy pizza and the finale of The Bachelor (Obviously, Eric and Brecken weren't as excited about the show as I was!)
Brecken checking out the map of Alcatraz so he could familiarize himself before we arrived!
On the boat on the way out to Alcatraz.... Notice our cold faces??
Walking into the shower room once we arrived at "The Rock..."
We took the self-guided tour and Brecken was very interested in hearing what we were hearing....
Brecken in jail :)
Brecken looking through the small "visitor's window" where the prisoners were allowed to talk to their family and friends that came to see them.
San Francisco...
Look how small the cells were! I wouldn't like to stay in here for more than a few minutes.
Brecken decided to call it quits towards the end of our tour, so shut his little eyes and took a nap. We wrapped him up in Eric's fleece so he wouldn't get too cold...
The Rock.... Very cool!
Brecken sampled a lot of seafood dishes while in San Francisco and he LOVED it all! Here he is with shrimp... He got a little upset because we kept taking the tail away from him and he wanted to eat the whole thing!
Clam Chowder was his FAVORITE.
... and who doesn't love a good bread bowl :) Don't worry, we didn't let him eat the whole thing!
On the shore, in front of Alcatraz after getting back to land from our return boat ride....
The hills in San Francisco are RIDICULOUS. RIDICULOUS! We hoofed up 5 VERY STEEP city blocks to get to the top of the "Crookedest Street in America." It was quite a sight and I almost passed out! Oh my goodness, I was out of breath.... But it made me feel better that all of the other tourist were breathing heavy at the top too :)
Looking down on the Crookedest Street.
Looking up at the Crookedest Street. Going down the hill wasn't nearly as painful as the climb up!
Walking around the Wharf, we found Captain Hook.... Who Brecken was scared of.
We had a street vendor do a chalk drawing of Brecken... Brecken thought it was SO FUN and laughed the entire time.
Before boarding the cable car...
Finding our seats....
Brecken kept saying "caa" (car) as we were riding...
What a very fun ride!!
