Walking

Brecken is getting more adventureous with his desire to walk every day. He has actually been going from a sit to a stand all by himself in the middle of the floor and then taking 6-8 steps. He is so proud of himself that he gets to laughing and giggling and then loses his balance. He currently refuses to do it for camera though and as soon as he sees me with a camera he takes an immediate seat! Here he is pushing one of his walker toys, which he didn't used to let me record either. We are making progress, so I will keep working on capturing the solo walks :)

When we were at the doctor on Tuesday, Dr. Bodine said that he was very impressed with Brecken's ability to communicate and he even got to hear some of B's words.... he said "book", "fish", and "shoe" just while we were there (to show off I'm sure!) And when we stood up to leave, Brecken smiled, waved, and said "bah" (bye).  Dr. Bodine saw him stand several times and asked about his walking and I said we weren't quite there. He said he wouldn't worry at all as kids have until 18 months to do it and be w/in the normal developmental milestones. He said he could also tell that it wasn't because Brecken wasn't physically able to, but because he was just choosing to crawl instead bgecause it is faster for him. This is what I have been thinking the last few months so was happy to hear the doctor agreeing with me. Brecken grows and changes every day, but continues to remain quite the little sweetie. We still have lots of vacation pictures to upload, but haven't taken the time to do it. After being away from the house and gone for 3 weeks, and with it being so close to the start of the school year, I have a lot to cram into the upcoming weeks!  I am also trying to get a video of his "pig" sound which is ADORABLE. We have been working on animal sounds lately and he has taken a big interest in the piggies.

Kisses from Brecken (he just leaned down and kissed the phone as I type this??)....

:) April
