Good news, bad news...

Bad news: Brecken has ANOTHER ear infection after such a tremendous streak without one :(

Good news: Brecken was quite excited to see the eye dropper of pink goo as he LOVES his ear infection medicine :)

Brecken's first fever was on Sunday morning and although I couldn't articulate it, I just knew that he wasn't okay. We had plans for the day, so I told myself he would be okay and didn't take him into the doctor. Since then, I have called his doctor's office several times but never been able to stay on hold long enough to make the appointment. I also felt silly calling to set up an appointment when I couldn't pinpoint exactly why I thought he should be seen other than my "mommy's instinct." He finally went to the doctor tonight at 8pm and unfortunately was diagnosed with yet another ear infection.... Booooo!!! He's had too many to count, but we were getting excited that he hasn't had one for over 3 months!!

The reason it is always hard for me to decide whether to call the doctor or not is because while I know that Brecken isn't his "normal" self, when we go to the doctor for each ear infection so far, Brecken goes in all smiles and giggles and the doctors and nurses look at me like I'm crazy for bringing my happy baby in?!?! Here are some pictures of Brecken tonight before his appointment.... When I was watching him play I almost cancelled his appointment and boy am I glad I didn't!

Brecken was playing with a ball that went under the table and although I didn't think there was any way he could actually get under the coffee table, he did...

Once under the coffee table, he wasn't exactly sure how to get back out...

He stuck with it, through the pain and tears, and got out with NO help from mom and dad!!

Brecken is sleeping tonight after his meds and Eric and I are splitting the day tomorrow so he can stay here and rest.... Hope he is back to himself soon!!

On a side note, I have a horrendous rash/ hive situation going on ever since my field trip to the zoo last Thursday with my kiddos. I have taken benedryl, baking soda baths, calamine lotion... Nothing is working!!!! I talked to someone else today (also on the zoo trip) that is going through the same thing... Any other teachers experiencing this?? What can I do?? I ITCH :( :( :( :(
