Ear Infections, Picnics & Scoots!
Hi all- After a rough 24 hours, I took Brecken in to see his favorite doctor. The bad news is he was diagnosed with what feels like his 100th ear infection. The good news is that the diagnosis validated his "grumpy bear" status that he has been getting from Mom & Dad! Poor guy :( He will take his first dose of antibiotic tonight and hopefully that will solve all of life's problems.... At least for this time around!
After the doctor appointment, we came home and decided to enjoy the nice weather we're having by having our snack in the form of a picnic on the deck! Unfortunately, our deck doesn't get any afternoon sun so it got a bit breezy in the shade and we called it quits after the last Yogurt Melt was shoved in. He had fun, nonetheless.
Our little "stationary man" is by no means crawling but continues to mysteriously end up several feet from his starting position. I can't even begin to describe his mode of transport, but it serves the purpose and gets him where he needs to go for now :) He LOVES to stand and is enjoying his time in his walker.... He can now maneuver through doorways almost better than me carrying my school bags!! Here is a picture showing how far away he has moved from his starting place by the orange ball!
Brecken's favorite toys are anything "giraffe like".... His favorite noise is Daddy's "horsey" sound.... His favorite book is "Where is Elmo?".... Favorite food continues to be puffs and crunchies (any flavor will do!)... His favorite sight is mommy mixing his formula in his bottle
(he especially likes the "shake your milk up" song that I invented to distract from the looooooooooong wait until he could actually drink his bottle! He gets annoyed with food that is cut up too small, gets happy when he sees the tylenol eye dropper, gets frustrated when we come towards him with the "suck the boogers out of his nose" tool, and gets sad when Daddy puts him in his car seat (though completely fine when I put him in, hmmmm?)
We had his 9 month pictures taken last Saturday and are anxious to see how they turned out. Here is one last photo taken ;ast weekend... Notice how he has a "This belongs to Teacher April" sticker on his shirt?? I was working on school stuff and he was relentless in getting to the stickers... I figured his hard work should at least be rewarded with one on Mommy's stickers!
