We love relaxing weekends...
Another weekend with minimal plans and we LOVE the R&R! Eric travelled to San Diego for work last week and will be in Washington DC next week. This means LOTS of Brecken & Mommy time and I try to squeeze in lesson plans and school prep whenever I get 2 minutes to spare! It's also meant some late nights on my part, trying to get things done/ caught up after B goes to bed.... Which isn't coinciding very well with my 5:30 wake-ups to get Brecken, the dogs and me all ready in time to drive to Bloomington and do daycare drop off in time for me to get to school! Oh, how I miss another person to help in the mornings.... And my extra minutes to sleep :) We all tried to take advantage of the weekend to sleep in and relax a little in preparation for another week that lies ahead...
Here is a picture of the boys yesterday before we ran errands....
Brecken having some vanilla custard with bananas.... Don't let this photo confuse anyone that he is a rock star who likes to feed himself! He has actually done a little regressing, as his streak of wanting to feed himself has passed. He would now MUCH prefer that Mom/ Dad hold the bottle.... the spoon..... put the puffs in his mouth! L.A.Z.Y. :)
Daddy is sharing some pizza crust with B..... Which he loves :)
Brecken LOVES giraffes. He has had a few giraffe teething toys that he has loved for several months (and continues to love).... However, while tootling around in his walker last night, he realized that Mommy has a Brecken-sized giraffe in the living room! This was an exciting discovery and now he thinks this is his new favorite toy..... We will be in trouble - Or at least the giraffe will be- once he starts crawling/ walking!!
Here are a few pictures of Brecken with his various giraffes so far in life....
... and now this one that he thinks is his too.... Hmmmmmm.
Yesterday was Brecken's first time riding in the shopping cart like a big boy! He has never enjoyed grocery shopping so much!!! The people whizzing by, the things on the shelves... SO much to look at! He's been sitting so well that we could have tried it awhile ago, but with it being so cold it was nice to keep him in his infant seat so he was snuggled in and warm. Go figure, when we came out of the store it was freezing rain and had to take him through that without a blanket. Nice. Welcome to big boy world Brecken :)
Brecken continues to be such a joy... Very smiley and happy. He is curious about everything, talks all the time (his own language of course), loves being in his walker, and could sit on his blanket surrounded by toys for HOURS. As much as he looks like a little linebacker, he has some toughening up to do before he hits the field.... If he tips over and bumps the floor, he responds like someone just dropped him down a flight of stairs! He's pretty dramatic (is that a hereditary thing passed down from Mommy??) to say the least so we will have to help him figure out something there.
Have a great week everyone!
Love-
April, Eric, Brecken, Tucker & PJ
