An unusual week.....

The stomach flu seems to be running rampant in Minnesota, and although we haven't been infected with it first hand, we have definitely been affected by it. Sadly, Brecken's beloved daycare provider, Miss Lisa, and her family had it this week which meant we were faced with our first time of finding back up daycare! It was bound to happen sooner or later, and the good news is that we now have our "back up daycare" in place should we need it! The paperwork has been filled out, we know the number to call, love the director, and think the teachers are great..... Not that we ever want Miss Lisa to NOT be able to watch Brecken, but it will at least be less stressful next time around having things set up! Eric and I tag-teamed Brecken on Tuesday with Eric watching him in the morning and me in the afternoon... Wednesday was his first day at the Rhode Island Kindercare in Bloomington and all went great. On Thursday, he was set to go back to Miss Lisa's house until he woke up with a fever of 102 and couldn't go anywhere!!!!!!!! Darn him!! I had to get a sub for this morning, as Eric is traveling for work this week :(

Despite the fever, he seems to be a very happy, smiley little Brecken today. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy he doesn't feel awful... But it makes it feel less necessary to take off of work and stay home with a "sick" baby who doesn't act sick! We took a Mommy/ Brecken nap this morning which was blissful! We haven't done one of those since he was a little guy and I was on maternity leave!! As he has had the sniffles for over 2 weeks now and has had 3 days of off and on fever (the first 2 days just low grade, but above 102 last night) I called the doctor and they thought he should be seen just to be safe. Him and I will be leaving shortly for our monthly date with Dr. Bodine! Poor doctor probably sees my child more than he does his own friends/ family!!!

It's hard to believe that Valentine's Day is right around the corner. And Brecken has already received his very first VDay gift from his girlfriend, Miss Kallie Mae Fulkerson. She got him a very cute, very LARGE bib! It couldn't be a more perfect gift and like they say, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach..... And the way to a Mom's heart is through her son's clean clothes so it's the gift that keeps on giving! Ha! It's great how Kallie knows Brecken so well.... If he isn't sleeping, he's eating, so he'll be wearing her bib a LOT! Brecken is SOOOOOO excited because him and Kallie's parents have finally set a date for the first annual Brecken & Kallie Slumber Party! It will be a yearly extravaganza that will be so fun for everyone... Until they are 12 years old and we have to modify the "slumber party" weekend to something more age appropriate :)

Here is a cute video of him doing what he does... Smiling, talking, and flirting with the camera :)

Here are a few pictures of the little bug-a-boo!
