First Day of School!

Our first day of school was a success all around! Although Brecken was NOT AT ALL A FAN of the early wake-up (he actually continued to sleep through the getting him out of his crib/ taking his jammies off/ diaper change/ getting dressed part!), he took it well. No fussing, just kept his eyes closed and willed us to go away.... He had a quick bottle and then in the car to snooze while Mommy drove him to Ms. Lisa's house. Not only did I not shed a tear at drop off, but I am proud (and surprised!) that I was able to resist the urge to call and check in during the afternoon.... And trust me, I STRONGLY had the urge! He had an AMAZING DAY and Lisa said he did great! He ate good, slept like a champ, and loved playing with his new little friends. When I got there for pick-up he was all smiles :) The only sad thing was that when I went to pick him up and said "Hi buddy, Mommy missed you..." he pulled closer to Lisa, smiled at her, and didn't want to come with me. OUCH. Knife in heart :( As heart breaking as it was in that moment, it made me happy knowing that he loves his new school and enjoys his days.

Here are a few pictures of us getting ready for school and posing for our "First Day of School" photo that will undoubtedly become a tradition. Two things to notice: Mommy looks tired, as she WAS. And it was dark out. Very dark. In fact, our entire drive to school/ work was DARK. THAT IS WRONG.

Brecken had some peas and puffs, took a bath and is now having a bottle with Dad before going night night.... It'll be another long and fun day tomorrow!
