I like to hold my own spoon....

Brecken has always been pretty advanced when it comes to eating. He was slammin' back 8 ounce bottles when he was just a month old and now he can't get enough of solids!! He has been working on holding in his own spoon for a few weeks now and gets really excited when we let him try. He definitely has the right idea, just needs to perfect the angle. Here are a few pictures from last night...

The aftermath of feeding himself is usually food in his eyes/hair. Hence we let him try on bath nights :) Here he is with some Cinnamon Spiced Pumpkin and Apple Strawberry Granola on his face... I would argue that no one enjoys my cooking more than Brecken and I actually love making his food. It's been fun, but he will soon be eating what we are eating. He LOVES the Gerber puffs and has eaten bread and banana chunks, and absolutely loves all of the new fun combinations of food in the Stage 2 section of store bought baby food.

Like I said, he can get it in his mouth without problem, but still needs to work on the angle....

And here he is right after throwing his spoon on the floor... All done!

Anyone have any good suggestions for a splat mat of some kind for under his highchair???
