Our first time being sick....

Hi all.... Is it really that time of the year where the sniffles start?? I guess I should know, as I was catching my own first cold of the season at this time last year from my classroom! Brecken has his first cold.... Tear :( Overall, he's actually handling it pretty well. He is still happy and playing and laughing and cooing. However, his morning nap was a little less than pleasant for all parties involved. Normally when he is tired, he'll give me one little whine and I put him in his crib where he falls asleep on his own. This morning however, when he started to get tired and I laid him in his crib he let me know that that just wouldn't cut it! He was screaming and I had to rock him for almost 10 minutes!!! For those parents who do this on a nightly basis- I can't imagine!!! We have been very lucky with B (knock on wood!) and if anything I would say that he actually likes his crib and loves nap time and bed time!

As I was rocking him and watching his little red face SCREAM in anger I felt so sad :( I knew he was tired, but I've never had to help him fall asleep like this! For his afternoon nap, he ended up falling asleep on his activity mat and I decided I'd just let him snooze there. He's sick so it's okay to bend the rules, right??

As I type this, he is kicking and punching his little music maker toy.... LAUGHING and talking to each of the little music notes. His cousin Julia is with her respective noise maker and everyone seems happy, despite the constant sneezes, flowing snot, and yucky coughs!
