"Say Cheese" doesn't necessarily mean Brecken is going to smile....
Brecken was scheduled to take his 3-month pictures this afternoon. After weeks of practicing our smiling and picking out outfits, we were excited to have the day arrive. B slept until 7:30 and when he woke up there was cooing and laughing over the monitor. When I went into the nursery, he was laying in his crib smiling. He woke up happy which was sure to mean this would be a great day for pictures! All morning we hung around the house playing with our toys and petting the dogs.... Still full of smiles!!
Here is what we learned as parents: If a kid doesn't feel like smiling for pictures, they won't. Sure, when Brecken turns 5 we can bribe him with a candy bar, but as it stands now there is no amount of bargaining that will get him to smile and pose for pictures on demand. We were fortunate enough to have a photographer that was VERY flexible and willing to stick with us. THREE hours, 1 bottle, and several meltdowns later and Brecken finally decided to participate in the photo session. He was all smiles the last 5 minutes and hopefully we'll have a few good ones :) We are definitely anxious to see the proofs and are so appreciative that we have such a great photographer!!
On a side note... Eric was checking out the Hawkeye score during the photo shoot (he maybe wasn't so appreciative of the 3 hours of waiting for Brecken to smile!) and we couldn't be more thrilled that the HAWKEYES BEAT THE CYCLONES!!! Go Iowa :)
Here are a few other pictures from this past week...
In trying on different outfits for his photo session earlier this week, I had to laugh at some of his faces! Ha!
