This excitement isn't good for my stress level!
My doctor said to keep things "calm" and "uneventul" as stress can lead to early labor which leads to a baby being in the world WAY too early. Unfortunately, our home appliances are not cooperating with these order. I'm laying in bed this morning, keeping peaceful and zen while Mom is downstairs cleaning one of the bathrooms (Thanks Mom!). She comes up and says that she heard water dripping in the laundry room so went in to find water on the floor and coming from a pipe above the furnace. Oh boy! We have an immobile April and my mother (neither plumbing oriented to say the least) to decipher the problem.... I ask Mom where the water is coming from and she says "a pipe that is kind of above the furnace." I'm sure Eric was happy to get that very descriptive call at work from me :) Eric left work to come home and check it out.... I heard him say something about the "refrigerator" while he was downstairs... Then I hear him walk upstairs and move something.... And then I hear what sounds like water spraying out of a garden hose! Ummmmmmm.... Very hard to lay in bed thinking calming thoughts while you're hearing what appears to be the start of a flood in your kitchen! I don't know the details as I was obviously not a part of them, but it seems like the problem has at least been remedied for the short term. Eric scurried back to work, mom is back in the bathroom, and I'm sitting with the dogs trying to piece things together.
Another exciting thing (though not quite as nervous-anxious-upset exciting as the leaking water debacle) was the arrival of our nursery furniture last night! We hadn't really gone anywhere to look prior to my bed rest, and always had it on our "list of things to do" before the baby got here. Thinking we still 4 long months, we hadn't really worried about it much.... Since I can't actually go look at furniture now and Eric doesn't want to do it without me, we were left to shop online. We found something we thought we liked, based on the 1" by 1" thumbnail images provided on the web :) I have been holding my breath this past week since placing the order, and I'm happy to say that we like it! Eric brought a few pieces in for me to see the wood, and even brought a section in to let me screw some of the pieces together..... How nice is he for letting me feel "included"???
Yesterday I spent a lot of my day working on a little art project for the nursery. So far, they are turning out great! I'm also happy to report that I didn't spill any paint on the bed :) I also got a little break from my "left side laying" to be able to paint, so that felt AMAZING. I can't sit up all the way (must be under 45 degrees), but anything other than flat on my left side was nice.
