People have asked how they could help.....

Thank you, thank you for all the sweet email messages, comments and words of encouragement!  It has been interesting to hear personal "mom stories" on several of your experiences and makes me feel like this pre-term labor business is more common than I originally thought.  Thanks for sharing your stories, and please continue to do so!  Also thanks for all of the amazing offers of help that have come our way. As several of you have been asking how you could help or what you could do, (and told us you weren't taking NO for an answer!!!!!!) we thought we better come up with an idea or two :)

First and foremost, keeping us in your daily thoughts and prayers is the most important and helpful. We have seen first hand the power of prayer and know its importance.... Join us in thinking positive thoughts about our little Junior and we just know that everything will work out fine!!

Magazines: If you are getting a magazine subscription at home and have old ones that you would otherwise be throwing away, I'd love them!!!! And please know that a girl on bed rest is not the least bit picky on titles!! I even caught myself flipping through one of Eric's "Handyman" magazines the other day.... and enjoyed it!!! From gossip magazines to food, scrapbooking to hobbies, parenting to news..... Reading makes the time go by MUCH faster!

Food: We have had so many people ask if it would be helpful to bring food over. I had held off on saying yes, hoping that I could be on just a modified bed rest and be able to get around some for short periods of time to help with things. NO LUCK :( If you're already cooking a meal, and it isn't too much trouble to make a double batch to throw in our freezer, we will NOT turn you away!! Please don't go to any trouble on your parts and know that we're not picky! I know that it would be a help to Eric as he is doing so much for me and Junior already. HE ISN'T COMPLAINING and we're both so lucky to have him :) If you want to bring food over anytime after 5:30, you'll probably be greeted by Eric himself. If you bring food over before 5:30, you'll be greeted by our security system of two little Yorkies! If you don't see them, you'll definitely hear them. They are actually quite friendly and spend their days back in bed with mommy. I apologize that I won't be able to answer the door, so let yourselves in!

Arm weights: Ha, yes this does seem like a silly request as I type it, so let me clarify. I asked the doctor on Monday what I could do to not turn into a pile of moosh as I am laying in bed all day everyday for 4 months. He gave me a few limited exercises I can do, and although they don't seem like much when I'm used to having dance parties with my Kinder prep class and running around with my ECFE students, it is at least something!! One thing he suggested is arm weights, but no more than 3 pounds. I have larger ones here, but if someone has 3 pound weights that are gathering dust in a closet, pass them my way!! I promise to return them just as soon as I can :)

Visitors: I have had a LOT of people say they could stop by and keep me entertained here and there- BLESS YOU! Yes, it does get boring even with my constant conversations with my doggies :) Shoot me an email and let me know if you're interested and we can set up a play date :)

Lastly, please remember to sign your name to any comments left on the blog so we know where they are coming from :)Stay in touch and we'll keep you up-to-date on the little guy who can't wait to get into the world.

Love,

April & Eric
