Excited to be with Miguel and Family!

After our arrival we went to Miguel and Francesca's house to drop off Rodrigo and Matteo. Such cute kids but they are shy around us currently.. We are certain that will change very soon!

We went out for dinner in downtown Arequipa and Miguel wanted us to try his dish, Ceviche. For those of you who don't know, everyone in Peru claims fish can be cooked by lemon juice and not heat... Hmmmmmmm. None of us were brave enough to eat it yet, but maybe we'll get there. Well some of us, I don't think Jim is considering it at all.

Everyone's meal was great. Of course we started off the dinner with a Pisco Sour and finished off with "Coca tea." According to the Incas, Coca Leaves help altitude acclimation. According to Miguel and Francesca, it would help with the digestion of new foods. According to Internet reports, it is the main ingredient in Cocaine. Whatever the case, it didn't seem to have much taste and we enjoyed it!

We met our tour guide for the week. Alberto. He seems like a very nice gentleman and perhaps by the end of the week we will have learned Spanish from him and he will have learned English from us. Should be interesting.... He'll be picking us up at 7am tomorrow morning and we'll begin our 5 hour trip to Puno, Peru.

Stay tuned for our next adventure and enjoy the photo!
